Safety and respect….
To help keep our lakes pristine and our fish healthy and in top condition, we have the following rules that we ask you to respect at all times on both lakes.
We do reserve the right to terminate your holiday if these rules are not abided by so please ensure that every group member reads these rules and regulations.
Bait and your set up

You are not allowed to bring any outside bait to either of our lakes…..No particle bait is to be used or brought on-site. You must use Lodge Lakes own bait that is always available on site.

If anyone is found using other baits the whole group will be asked to leave the premises with no refund so please ensure that every group member reads these rules and regulations.

You may bring popups and plastic hook baits.

Hooks must be barbed (yes barbed!), size 2, 4 or 6. No use of treble hooks.

The lead system must be MCF slipper system or dumper system, you can buy this at Johnsontackle.co.uk If you buy the dumper you will lose your lead on every pick up but with the slipper system you do not normally lose the lead. No other lead clip systems are allowed (No exceptions!)

Rods and reels must be suitable for fishing big carp or big cats.

Nylon and Fluorocarbon mainlines must be a minimum 0.30mm diameter and 15lb minimum.

No lead core or leaders of any kind to be used or brought on to premises. No shock leaders or fixed leads.

Your hooklinks must have a plastic coating. Coated braid can be used. We recommend 15lb snakebite / snakeskin / snake-mantis, etc..

If Live baiting for catfish you will need catfish braid and 1/0 to 4/0 hooks.
Fishing and Carp Safety

3 Rods maximum per angler, Leaving your rods unattended is a crime! please refrain from doing so. IF YOU LEAVE YOUR RODS, LEAVE THE LAKE.

Landing nets must be a minimum of 42 inches. Weigh slings must be strong and suitable for Big Carp. All of these items must be present in your swims at all times.

Carp Cradles and weigh slings are supplied, the carp cradles must be used at all times.

Do not take fish out of the lake until you have all the necessary bits ready i.e. weigh sling (wet), unhooking mat, scales, camera etc.

No sacking of fish. Do not stand up whilst holding the fish.

Do not move any fish from one swim to another. Do not carry any fish other than in a proper sling or bag.

Bait boats are allowed. There is use of a rowing boat so that you can row out your bait and drop your rig from the boat.

No litter of any description – this includes cigarette ends, line, hooks, beer bottles and tops etc
