Catch Report and Comments:
What a fantastic weeks fishing given the time of year. The weather has been a mixed bag with some frosts overnight, a couple of rainy days and 3/4 lovely sunny days. As always Gary & Kerry have been great host ! Thank You ! Fishing has been brilliant, although it has by no means been easy & had to put in a lot of effort for the reward. I think with the fast approaching winter, location has been the key with every fish coming from the silt bed that splits the lake. If the baits were even a foot out of the silt bed then no fish came. Monday & Tuesday I couldn’t win a bite, no doubt due to the big change in pressure. Rigs & presentation wise, the blow back rig really did 90% of the fish (minimum 12″ hook-link due to the silt) The snowman presentation worked really well. 16mm bottom with a 16mm pop-up plucked away to the size of a 12mm (if I left the pop up round, then no bites). Back leads essential, Bait boat used, Bait wise, I mushed up the cereal pellets & crushed boilies, creating a method feeder style ball (tennis ball size) around bait.
