What a stunning place Lodge Lakes is (Cabin Lake). We can’t think if a nicer place to have spent a week. Gary & Kerry have really created the perfect getaway that suits fisherman, non-fisherman, & families alike. Credit to both of you for what you have achieved & thank you for your hospitality & welcome.
The week has been absolutely scorching with temperatures pushing 40 degrees and unfortunately this has created rather difficult fishing conditions to say the least.
It has taken 30 years of carp fishing to have managed to not blank this week and manage to catch some tip top beautiful carp between 17lb & 34lb.
Not a single fish has been caught this week using the boilie & baited area(s) approach. Instead all fish have come from single bait stalking approach, tight in to the bank (within a foot). Pepperami being the only bait that worked & topped with a piece of yellow pop-up corn. No loose feed what so ever. Rigs wise the D-rig & blowback rig worked but do use a heavy lead as the roach will be kindly relocating your bait otherwise 🙂
If fishing from the swim near to the lodge (to the far bay) make sure you back lead too as the fish are wise & experienced and will go to ground with lines trailing.
Thanks again to Gary & Kerry for everything & we look forward to meeting again !!
