After some of the F.C. boys being ripped off a couple of years ago in France, Lodge Lakes was the ideal tonic to repair our faith in France. This was our best trip ever and we could only dream of some of our catches and the 7 varieties we caught (see catch report). Weather was hot & sunny first three days and still warm at night, the fish just kept feeding and being landed on the bank! at a rate we could only dream of. Tuesday night saw a thunderstorm and heavy rain. This slowed the fish down for a couple of days but when the sun returned on Friday so did the fish! with 2×30’s on the bank within 1 1/2 hours of fishing. Fishing was slow during the days but picked up during the evening and into the night. Of all the fish caught only about 10% were caught without the bait boat we hired, this was worth its weight in gold so definately recommend it. Drop the bait and leave it alone, the fish will come. Listen to Gary how to fish your swims and best baits to use. Simple is best! The Thursday trip to the local village & restaurant was great value and the F.C. lads trying local food including snails and deer brain washed down with lots of beer & wine. We made use of the hire and food package with breakfast and evening meal all served by Gary with a few more tips. This is great value and will definately do again and the food was top notch!….Mark: Great week Gary, smashed my PB you have a cracking lake and fish and I will hopefully be back soon. All the best.
