After mixed emotions, lost directions, no f**king post office and a sodding bike race, we arrived, we fished, we won!
Great two weeks at the Lodge, good weather throughout, high of mid 30s and down to 15º during the night. Fished most days and every night with most caught after midnight and days fished well when sun was shining.
New Lake record came out at 47lb Mirror, weighed on two different scales. 69 fish caught over the two week, weighing in at a total of 1900.85lbs. Most fish caught on mainline diamond white pop ups on ronnie rigs with a good spread of Gary’s chopped boilies (12kg worth) and 200kg of pellet.
As per the cabin, would highly recommend the use of a bait at all times. Fished bank to bank throughout the day and mid water during the night. We rested the lake for 3 afternoons and found we caught big commons on a full moon. Pristine fish with very minimal scarring. Good mix of mirrors and commons with commons fighting hard all the way to the net. Only one koi caught but seen plenty in the margins. Tried stalking around the island during the day with no luck but had a few off the edge of the island from a distance.
We arrived, We fished, we will return!
